Charybdis Migration
We have migrated away from InspIRCd 2.0 to Charybdis 3.2.1 !
The excessive memory usage, weird quirks and incessant netsplits caused by various bugs in InspIRCd prompted this move, hence the lack of prior notice.
This should be the last of any major network maintenance for the foreseeable future
The network help pages will be updated shortly to reflect the changes to various commands.
UK Server Hypervisor Upgrade
The UK server will be down for a short period of time in the small hours of tomorrow (Monday) morning so that the underlying ESXi hypervisor can be upgraded to the latest version.
All the other servers on the network will operate as normal.
Update @ 03:00: A very smooth, successful update
Network Upgrades
We have migrated from Anope to Atheme 5.2.2 ![]()
Obviously there are a lot of differences, so feel free to ask a member of staff should you require assistance.
The Network Services page has been updated to reflect Atheme's commands and syntaxes.
At the same time, we upgraded to InspIRCd 2.0.0.
Upgrading to InspIRCd 1.2.0 “Stable”
InspIRCd 1.2.0 has been released as "stable", and we will therefore be upgrading to it over the next day or so.
This release should fix the problems that the US server had been having in July and August.
Due to the US server having a netsplit earlier, we upgraded it a short while ago, and it is now back up.
The UK and DE servers will be upgraded in the small hours of tomorrow morning -- tomorrow being 23/9 -- to reduce impact to users as much as possible.
The upgrade should take less than 5 minutes, however thing don't always go as planned, so please bare with us if it ends up taking a little longer!
Update @ 02:00: The upgrade went as planned with less than 1 minute of downtime
IRCd Upgrade
We will be upgrading the Inspire IRCd software on all servers to 1.2.0 RC4 at the beginning of this coming weekend.
The upgrade will take place around midnight on Saturday, UK time (click here to see when that will be in your time zone), and should take no longer than 15 minutes.
This should help reduce (or even eliminate) the crashes the US server has been having recently
Updated @ 00:30: The upgrade went smoothly, and we are now running on 1.2.0rc4.
